«رباط شهر خير من صيام دهر ومن مات مرابطا في سبيل الله أمن من الفزع الأكبر وغدي عليه برزقه وريح من الجنة ويجرى عليه أجر المرابط حتى يبعثه الله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Guarding the frontier (ribat) for one month is better than fasting for a lifetime. Whoever dies while guarding the frontier in the path of Allah is kept safe from the greatest terror (the horror of the Day of Resurrection); his provision and the fragrance of Paradise are brought to him morning and evening, and the reward of the frontier guard (murabit) continues to be recorded for him until Allah resurrects him."
