«إذا اشترى أحدكم الجارية فليقل: اللهم إني أسألك خيرها وخير ما جبلتها عليه وأعوذ بك من شرها وشر ما جبلتها عليه وليدع بالبركة, وإذا اشترى أحدكم بعيرا فليأخذ بذروة سنامه وليدع بالبركة وليقل مثل ذلك»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"When one of you buys a slave girl, let him say: Allahumma inni as'aluka khayraha wa khayra ma jabaltaha 'alayhi, wa a'udhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jabaltaha 'alayhi (O Allah, I ask You for her good and the good of the disposition upon which You have created her, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of the disposition upon which You have created her), and he should pray for blessing. And when one of you buys a camel, let him take hold of the top of its hump, pray for blessing and say similar words."
