«الجار أحق بشفعة جاره ينتظر بها وإن كان غائبا إذا كان طريقهما واحد»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A neighbour has the greater right to his neighbour's right of pre-emption (shuf'ah); he is to be waited for even if he is absent, provided that their path is one and the same."
