«جعل الله الأهلة مواقيت للناس فصوموا لرؤيته وأفطروا لرؤيته فإن غم عليكم فعدوا ثلاثين يوما»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Allah Almighty has made the new moons a means of marking times for people. So fast upon sighting it and end the fast upon sighting it, and if it is clouded over for you, then complete thirty days."
