Sahih al-Jami al-Saghir — Hadith 3056

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Three things are part of good fortune and three things are part of misfortune. Of good fortune: a righteous wife who pleases you when you look at her, and whom you can trust with herself and your wealth when you are away from her; a riding animal that is smooth-paced so that it brings you up with your companions; and a house that is spacious with many amenities. And of misfortune: a wife who displeases you when you look at her and who hurts you with her tongue, and whom you cannot trust with herself and your wealth when you are away from her; a riding animal that is sluggish, such that if you beat it, it wears you out, and if you leave it, it does not bring you up with your companions; and a house that is cramped with few amenities."
