"ألا أخبركم بخير الناس منزلة؟ رجل ممسك بعنان فرسه في سبيل الله حتى يموت أو يقتل; ألا أخبركم بالذي يتلوه؟ رجل معتزل في شعب يقيم الصلاة ويؤتي الزكاة ويعتزل شرور ¤ الناس; ألا أخبركم بشر الناس؟ رجل يسأل بالله ولا يعطي"
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Shall I not tell you about the person who holds the best rank among people? A man who holds the reins of his horse in the path of Allah until he dies or is martyred. Shall I not tell you about the one who comes next to him in rank? A man who lives in seclusion in a mountain pass, establishes the prayer, pays zakah and keeps away from the evils of people. Shall I not tell you about the worst of people? A man who is asked for something in the name of Allah and does not give."
