«أول ما يحاسب الناس به يوم القيامة من أعمالهم الصلاة يقول ربنا عز وجل لملائكته وهو أعلم: انظروا في صلاة عبدي أتمها أم نقصها؟ فإن كانت تامة كتبت له تامة وإن كان انتقص منها شيئا قال: انظروا هل لعبدي من تطوع؟ فإن كان له تطوع قال: أتموا لعبدي فريضته ثم تؤخذ الأعمال على ذاكم»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The first of people's deeds for which they will be held to account on the Day of Resurrection is the prayer. Our Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, will say to His angels, though He knows best: Look at My servant's prayer; did he complete it or did he fall short in it? If it is complete, it will be recorded for him as complete; and if he fell short in it in anything, Allah Almighty will say: Look, does My servant have any voluntary prayer? If he has any voluntary prayer, He will say: Complete My servant's obligatory prayer (from his voluntary prayers). Then the rest of the deeds will be taken to account in the same way."
