«إني أحرم ما بين لابتي المدينة أن يقطع عضاهها أو يقتل صيدها المدينة خير لهم لو كانوا يعلمون لا يدعها أحد رغبة عنها إلا أبدل الله فيها من هو خير منه ولا يثبت أحد على لأوائها وجهدها إلا كنت له شفيعا أو شهيدا يوم القيامة ولا يريد أحد أهل المدينة بشر إلا أذابه الله في النار ذوب الرصاص أو ذوب الملح في الماء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, I declare the area between the two lava fields of Madinah (the eastern and western Harrah) a sanctuary, such that its thorny trees may not be cut nor its game hunted. Madinah is far better for them, if only they knew. No one leaves it out of aversion to it except that Allah Almighty brings into it, in his place, someone better than him. And no one remains steadfast through its hardship and difficulty except that I will be an intercessor or a witness for him on the Day of Resurrection. And no one intends evil against the people of Madinah except that Allah Almighty will melt him in the Fire as lead melts, or as salt dissolves in water."
