«أدوا صاعا من بر أو قمح بين اثنين أو صاعا من تمر أو صاعا من شعير على كل حر وعبد صغير وكبير»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"On behalf of every free person and slave, young and old, pay (as Sadaqat al-Fitr) one sa' of wheat between two people (that is, half a sa' per person), or one sa' of dates, or one sa' of barley."
