«إنما أنا بشر وإنكم تختصمون إلي فلعل بعضكم أن يكون ألحن بحجته من بعض فأقضي له على نحو ما أسمع فمن قضيت له بحق مسلم فإنما هي قطعة من النار فليأخذها أو ليتركها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"I am only a human being, and you bring your disputes to me. Perhaps one of you may be more eloquent (and clever) in presenting his argument than the other, and I judge in his favour according to what I hear from him. So whoever I judge to have the right of another Muslim (while in reality it is not his right), it is in truth a piece of the Fire of Hell; now let him take it if he wishes, or leave it."
