«إنما أرى بني هاشم وبني المطلب شيئا واحدا إنهم لم يفارقونا في جاهلية ولا إسلام»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, I regard Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib as one and the same thing (that is, one family); they neither abandoned us in the days of Ignorance nor (left us alone) in Islam."
