«إن مما يلحق المؤمن من عمله وحسناته بعد موته علما نشره وولدا صالحا تركه ومصحفا ورثه أو مسجدا بناه أو بيتا لابن السبيل بناه أو نهرا أجراه أو صدقة أخرجها من ماله في صحته وحياته تلحقه من بعد موته»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, the deeds and good works whose reward continues to reach the believer after his death are these: knowledge that he spread, a righteous child whom he left behind, a copy of the Qur'an that he left as inheritance, or a mosque that he built, or a house that he built for travellers, or a stream that he made flow, or charity that he gave from his wealth while in good health and during his lifetime; the reward of all of these continues to reach him even after his death."
