«إن من ضئضئ هذا قوما يقرءون القرآن لا يجاوز حناجرهم يقتلون أهل الإسلام ويدعون أهل الأوثان يمرقون من الإسلام كما يمرق السهم من الرمية لئن أدركتهم لأقتلنهم قتل عاد»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, from the offspring of this man there will come a people who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will kill the people of Islam and leave the idol-worshippers alone. They will pass out of Islam as swiftly as an arrow passes through the body of the game. If I live to see them, I will kill them as the people of Ad were killed (uprooting them completely)."
