«إن الله تعالى لا ينام ولا ينبغي له أن ينام يخفض القسط ويرفعه ويرفع إليه عمل الليل قبل عمل النهار وعمل النهار قبل عمل الليل حجابه النور لو كشفه لأحرقت سبحات وجهه ما انتهى إليه بصره من خلقه»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, Allah Almighty does not sleep, nor is it befitting for Him to sleep. He lowers the scale (of justice or provision) and raises it. The deeds of the night are raised up to Him before the deeds of the day, and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night. His veil is light. If He were to remove it, the splendours of His Face would burn everything of His creation as far as His sight reaches."
