«احتج آدم وموسى فقال موسى: أنت آدم الذي خلقك الله بيده ونفخ فيك من روحه وأسجد لك ملائكته وأسكنك جنته, أخرجت الناس من الجنة بذنبك وأشقيتهم! قال آدم: يا موسى أنت الذي اصطفاك الله برسالاته وبكلامه وأنزل عليك التوراة أتلومني على أمر كتبه الله على قبل أن يخلقني؟! فحج آدم موسى!»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Adam and Musa (peace be upon them both) argued with one another. Musa (peace be upon him) said: 'You are Adam, whom Allah Almighty created with His Hand, breathed into you of His spirit, made His angels prostrate to you and settled you in His Paradise; then, because of your sin, you caused people to be expelled from Paradise and brought them into hardship!' Adam (peace be upon him) replied: 'O Musa! You are the one whom Allah Almighty chose for His messages and His speech, and upon whom He sent down the Torah. Do you blame me for a matter which Allah Almighty had written in my decree even before He created me?!' Thus Adam (peace be upon him) prevailed over Musa (peace be upon him)."
