«إن الله تعالى إذا أحب عبدا دعا جبريل فقال: إني أحب فلانا فأحبه فيحبه جبريل ثم ينادي في السماء فيقول: إن الله تعالى يحب فلانا فأحبوه فيحبه أهل السماء ثم يوضع له القبول في الأرض وإذا أبغض عبدا دعا جبريل فيقول: إني أبغض فلانا فأبغضه فيبغضه جبريل ثم ينادي في أهل السماء: إن الله يبغض فلانا فأبغضوه فيبغضونه ثم يوضع له البغضاء في الأرض»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, when Allah Almighty loves a servant, He calls Jibril (peace be upon him) and says: I love so-and-so, so you love him too. So Jibril loves him too. Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens: Indeed, Allah Almighty loves so-and-so, so you love him too. So the inhabitants of the heavens love him too, and then acceptance is placed for him in the hearts of the people of the earth as well. And when Allah hates a servant, He calls Jibril (peace be upon him) and says: I hate so-and-so, so you hate him too. So Jibril hates him too. Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens: Indeed, Allah Almighty hates so-and-so, so you hate him too. So they all hate him too, and then aversion and hatred are placed for him in the hearts of the people of the earth as well."
