«إن الرجل ليكون له المنزلة عند الله فما يبلغها بعمل فلا يزال الله يبتليه بما يكره حتى يبلغه إياها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Indeed, a person has a special station (appointed) with Allah which he cannot reach through any deed of his, so Allah Almighty keeps testing him with things he dislikes until Allah brings him to that station."
