«إن كنتم آنفا تفعلون فعل فارس والروم يقومون على ملوكهم وهم قعود فلا تفعلوا ائتموا بأئمتكم إن صلى قائما فصلوا قياما وإن صلى قاعدا فصلوا قعودا»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Just a little while ago you were doing what the people of Persia and Rome do: they stand over their kings while the kings are sitting. Never do that. Follow your imams: if he leads the prayer standing, then pray standing, and if he leads the prayer sitting, then you too should pray sitting."
