«إن كان خرج يسعى على ولده صغارا فهو في سبيل الله وإن كان خرج يسعى على أبوين شيخين كبيرين فهو في سبيل الله وإن كان خرج يسعى على نفسه يعفها فهو في سبيل الله وإن كان خرج يسعى رياء ومفاخرة فهو في سبيل الشيطان»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"If he has gone out striving to earn a living for his young children, he is in the path of Allah; if he has gone out to provide for his elderly, frail parents, he is in the path of Allah; if he has gone out to work to keep himself (from the humiliation of begging), he is in the path of Allah; but if he has gone out for show and boasting, then he is in the path of Satan."
