«أما الرجل فلينثر رأسه فليغسله حتى يبلغ أصول الشعر وأما المرأة فلا عليها أن لا تنقضه لتغرف على رأسها ثلاث غرفات تكفيها»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"The man should (when taking the ritual bath) loosen the hair of his head thoroughly and wash it until the water reaches the roots of the hair. As for the woman, it is not necessary for her to undo her braided hair; she need only pour three handfuls of water over her head, and that is sufficient for her."
