«أتي الله عز وجل بعبد من عباده آتاه الله مالا فقال له: ماذا عملت في الدنيا؟ فقال: ما عملت من شيء يا رب إلا أنك آتيتني مالا فكنت أبايع الناس وكان من خلقي أن أيسر على الموسر وأنظر المعسر. قال الله تعالى: أنا أحق بذلك منك تجاوزوا عن عبدي»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"A servant from among the servants of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, to whom Allah had given wealth, will be brought before Him. Allah will ask him: 'What did you do in the world?' He will say: 'O my Lord, I did no (special) deed, except that You gave me wealth, so I used to trade with people, and it was my habit to be lenient with the well-off and to grant respite to those in hardship.' Allah Almighty will say: 'I am more entitled to that than you. (O angels,) pardon My servant.'"
