«أغلقوا أبوابكم وخمروا آنيتكم وأطفئوا سرجكم وأوكئوا أسقيتكم فإن الشيطان لا يفتح بابا مغلقا ولا يكشف غطاء ولا يحل وكاء وإن الفويسقة تضرم البيت على أهله»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Close the doors (of your houses), cover your vessels, put out your lamps and tie up the mouths of your waterskins, for Satan does not open a closed door, nor uncover a covered vessel, nor untie a tied knot; and also because the little mischief-maker (that is, the mouse) can set the house on fire and burn it to ashes over its occupants."
