'A'isha reported: We, the wives of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , were with him (during his last illness) and none was absent therefrom that Fatima, who walked after the style of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , came there, and when he saw her he welcomed her saying: You are welcome, my daughter. He their made her sit on his right side or on his left side. Then he said something secretly to her and she wept bitterly and when he found her (plunged) in grief he said to her something secretly for the second time and she laughed. I ('A'isha) said to her: Allah's Messenger has singled you amongst the women (of the family) for talking (to you something secretly) and you wept. When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) recovered from illness, I said to her. What did Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say to you? Thereupon she said: I am not going to disclose the secret of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) died, I said to her: I adjure you by the right that I have upon you that you should narrate to me what Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to you. She said: Yes, now I can do that (so listen to it). When he talked to me secretly for the first time he informed me that Gabirel was in the habit of reciting the Qur'an along with him once or twice every year, but this year it had been twice and so he perceived his death quite near, so fear Allah and be patient (and he told me) that he would be a befitting forerunner for me and so I wept as you saw me. And when he saw me in grief he talked to me secretly for the second time and said: Fatima, are you not pleased that you should be at the head of the believing women or the head of this Umma? I laughed and it was that laughter which you saw.

'A'isha reported that all the wives of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) had gathered (in her apartment) during the days of his (Prophet's) last illness and no woman was left behind that Fatima, who walked after the style of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) , came there. He welcomed her by saying: You are welcome, my daughter, and made her sit on his right side or on his left side, and then talked something secretly to her and Fitima wept. Then he talked something secretly to her and she laughed. I said to her: What makes you weep? She said; I am not going to divulge the secret of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . I ('A'isha) said: I have not seen (anything happening) like today, the happiness being more close to grief (as I see today) when she wept. I said to her: Has Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) singled you out for saying something leaving us aside? She then wept and I asked her what he said, and she said: I am not going to divulge the secrets of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . And when he died I again asked her and she said that he (the Holy Prophet) told her: Gabriel (ؑ) used to recite the Qur'an to me once a year and for this year it was twice and so I perceived that my death had drawn near, and that I ('A'isha) would be the first amongst the members of his family who would meet him (in the Hereafter). I (Shuraih bin Hani, one of the narrators) came to A'isha and said to her: Mother of the faithful, I heard Abu Hurairah (RA) narrate from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) which, if it is actually so, is a destruction to us. Thereupon she said: Those are in fact ruined who are ruined at the words of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . What are (the words which in your opinion would cause your destruction)? He said that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had stated: He who loves to meet Allah, Allah too loves to meet him, and he who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah too abhors to meet him, and there is none amongst us who does not hate death. Thereupon she said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) has in fact stated this, but it does not mean what you construe, but it implies (the time) when one loses the lustre of the eye, and there is rattling in the throat, shudder in the body and convulsion in fingers (at the time of death). Ibn Buraida narrated to us, he said: ‘Aamir bin Shurahbil Sha’bi, who belonged to the tribe of Sha’b Hamdan, narrated to me, he asked the sister of Dhahhak bin Qais (may Allah be pleased with him), Lady Fatima bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her), who was among the earliest emigrants, to narrate to him a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) which she had heard directly from him. She said: “Alright, if you wish, I will narrate it.” He said: “Yes, narrate it.” Lady Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “I was married to Ibn Mughirah, and he was among the best young men of Quraysh at that time. Then he was martyred in the first battle with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). When I became a widow, ‘Abdur Rahman bin ‘Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) came with some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and proposed marriage to me. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a proposal for his freed slave Usamah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him). And I had heard this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): ‘Whoever loves me should also love Usamah (may Allah be pleased with him).’ When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) spoke to me about this, I said: ‘The matter is in your hands, O Messenger of Allah, marry me to whomever you wish.’ He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Go to the house of Umm Sharik.’ Umm Sharik was a wealthy woman among the Ansar and used to spend a lot in the way of Allah, and guests would stay with her. I said: ‘Very well, I will go to Umm Sharik.’ Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Do not go to Umm Sharik, for many guests come to her, and I dislike that your veil may fall or your shins become uncovered and people see from your body what you would dislike. Go to your cousin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr ibn Umm Maktum, who was from Banu Fihr, a branch of Quraysh, and Lady Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) was also from that tribe.’ Then Lady Fatima said: ‘So I went to his house. When my waiting period (‘iddah) was over, I heard the voice of a caller, and it was the caller of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), calling: ‘Gather for prayer.’ I also went out towards the mosque and prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). I was in the row in which the women were behind the people. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he sat on the pulpit and was smiling. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Let everyone remain in his place of prayer.’ Then he said: ‘Do you know why I have gathered you?’ The companions said: ‘Allah and His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) know best.’ He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘By Allah, I have not gathered you to encourage or to frighten you, but rather because Tamim Dari, who was a Christian, came, pledged allegiance, became Muslim, and narrated to me a hadith which agrees with what I used to tell you about the Dajjal. He narrated that he (i.e., Tamim) boarded a ship with thirty men from the tribes of Lakhm and Judham. The sea waves played with them for a month. Then they landed on the shore of an island towards the setting sun. They boarded a small boat and entered the island. There they met a beast with a thick tail, very hairy, so much so that its front and back could not be distinguished due to the abundance of hair. The people said to it: ‘Woe to you, what are you?’ It said: ‘I am a spy.’ The people said: ‘What is a spy?’ It said: ‘Go to that man in the monastery, for he is very eager to know your news.’ Tamim (may Allah be pleased with him) said: ‘When it mentioned the man, we were afraid of it, lest it be a devil. Tamim said: ‘Then we hurriedly entered the monastery. There we saw a man of great stature, the likes of whom we had never seen, and he was bound very tightly. His hands were tied to his neck, and his legs were shackled from the knees to the ankles with iron. We said: ‘Woe to you, what are you?’ He said: ‘You have come to know about me, now tell me about yourselves, who are you?’ The people said: ‘We are Arabs, we boarded a ship, but when we set sail, we found the sea in turmoil, and the waves played with us for a month. Then we landed on this island, boarded a small boat, and entered the island. We met a beast with a thick tail and very hairy, so much so that we could not distinguish its front from its back due to the abundance of hair. We said to it: ‘Woe to you, what are you?’ It said: ‘I am a spy.’ We said: ‘What is a spy?’ It said: ‘Go to that man in the monastery, for he is very eager to know your news.’ So we hurried to you, fearing it might be a demon.’ Then that man said: ‘Tell me about the date palms of Baisan.’ We said: ‘What do you want to know about them?’ He said: ‘I am asking about their fruiting, do they bear fruit?’ We said: ‘Yes, they bear fruit.’ He said: ‘Be informed, soon they will not bear fruit.’ He said: ‘Tell me about the lake of Tabariyyah (Tiberias).’ We said: ‘What do you want to know about it?’ He said: ‘Is there water in it?’ The people said: ‘There is plenty of water in it.’ He said: ‘Indeed, its water will soon dry up.’ Then he said: ‘Tell me about the spring of Zughar.’ The people said: ‘What do you want to know about it?’ He said: ‘Is there water in that spring, and do the people irrigate their crops with it?’ We said: ‘Yes, there is plenty of water in it, and the people irrigate their crops with it.’ He said: ‘Tell me about the Prophet of the unlettered (Ummiyeen), what has he done?’ The people said: ‘He has come out from Makkah and settled in Madinah.’ He said: ‘Did the Arabs fight him?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘How did he deal with them?’ We said: ‘He prevailed over those Arabs around him, and they obeyed him.’ He said: ‘Has it really happened?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Be informed, it is better for them to obey him. And now I tell you about myself: I am the Messiah (Dajjal), and the time is near when I will be permitted to come out. When I am allowed, I will travel and will not leave any town except that I will enter it within forty nights, except Makkah and Taybah (Madinah), for they are forbidden to me. Whenever I try to enter either of them, an angel with a drawn sword will confront me and prevent me from entering, and there will be angels guarding every path of them.’ Lady Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) said: ‘Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) struck the pulpit with his staff and said: ‘This is Taybah, this is Taybah, this is Taybah,’ meaning Madinah. Beware! Have I not told you about this before?’ The companions said: ‘Yes.’ The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘I liked the story of Tamim (may Allah be pleased with him) because it agrees with what I have told you about the Dajjal, Madinah, and Makkah. Beware! He is in the sea of Sham or Yemen? No, rather he is in the east, he is in the east, he is in the east (to the east is the Indian Ocean, perhaps Dajjal is on an island in the Indian Ocean), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) pointed towards the east.’ Lady Fatima bint Qais (may Allah be pleased with her) said: ‘I have remembered this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).’

Al-Sha'bi reported: We visited Fatima bin Qais and she served us fresh dates which are called rutab and she also served us barley. I asked her about that woman in whose case three divorces had been pronounced as to how much time she should count as the waiting period. She said: My husband pronounced three divorces in my case and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) permitted me to spend any waiting period in my family. (It was during this period) that announcement was made for the people to observe prayer in the bigger Mosque. I went there along with people and I was in the front row meant for women and it was adjacent to the last row of men and I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) deliver sermon sitting on the pulpit. He said: The cousin of Tamim (Dari) sailed in the ocean. The rest of the hadith is the same but with this addition: "(I see) as if I am looking to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) pointing his rod towards the land (and saying): It is Taiba, i. e. Madinah."

Tamim Dari came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and informed Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that he sailed in an ocean and his ship lost direction and thus landed at an island. They moved about in that land in search of water. There they saw a person who had been pulling his hair. The rest of the hadith is the same. And he (Dajjal) said: If I were to be permitted to set out I would have covered all the lands except Taiba. Then Allah's Messerger (ﷺ) brought (Tamim Dari) before the public and he narrated to them and said: That is Taiba and that is the Dajjal.
Hadith 2942
Fatima bin Qais reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sat on the pulpit and said: O people, Tamim Dari has reported to me that some persons of his tribe sailed in the ocean in a boat and it capsised and then some of them travelled on one of the planks of the boat and they went to an island in the ocean. The rest of the hadith is the same.

Thereupon he said: It was because of the (fact that there came to my mind) the talk which the servant would have with his Lord (on the Day of Judgment). He would say: My Lord, have you not guaranteed me protection against injustice? He would say: Yes. Then the servant would say: I do not deem valid any witness against me but my own self, and He would say: Well, enough would be the witness of your self against you and that of the two angels who had been appointed to record your deeds. Then the seal would be set upon his mouth and it would be said to his hands and feet to speak and they would speak of his deeds. Then the mouth would be made free to talk, he would say (to the hands and feet): Be away, let there be curse of Allah upon you. It was for your safety that I contended.

Ibn 'Umar reported: I heard 'Umar bin Khattab delivering sermon on the pulpit ol Allah's messenger (ﷺ) and saying': Now, coming to the point, O people, there was revealed (the command pertaining to the prohibition of wine) and it was prepared (at that time) out of five things: grape, date, honey, wheat, barley, and wine is that which clouds the intellect, and, O people, I wish Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had explained to us in greater detail three things: the inheritance of the grandfather, of one who dies without leaving any issue, and some of the problems of interest.
