Mention of a group of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) not mentioned earlier, with the times of their birth and death, among them Haml bin Malik bin al-Nabighah al-Hudhali (may Allah be pleased with him)

It is narrated from Khalifah bin Khayyat that Hamal bin Malik bin al-Nabighah bin Jabir bin Ubayd bin Rabi'ah bin Ka'b bin al-Harith bin Kabir bin Hind bin Tabikhah bin Lihyan bin Hudhayl al-Hudhali had a house in Basrah.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood on the pulpit and said: "I remind (by Allah) any person who heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) give a judgement concerning the fetus (the child in the womb)." So Hamal bin Malik bin al-Nabighah al-Hudhali stood up and said: "O Commander of the Believers! I was between two women (co-wives). One of them wounded - or struck - the other with the pole of her tent, so that the woman and the child in her womb both died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave judgement that a 'ghurrah' (that is, a male or female slave, as blood money) be given for the fetus." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Allah is the Greatest! Had we not heard this (hadith), we would have judged otherwise."
The mention of Sayyiduna Aqil bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him); his honour and lineage required that he be mentioned together with his brothers and his clan, but his mention was delayed because of the scarcity of his narrations in the Musnad collections of the Imams.
