حدثني أبو بكر بن بالَوَيهِ، حَدَّثَنَا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الحَرْبي، حَدَّثَنَا مصعب بن عبد الله، قال: المُنكَدِر بن عبد الله بن الهُدَير بن مُحْرِز بن عبد العُزَّى ابن عامر بن الحارث بن حارثةَ بن سعد بن تَيْم بن مُرّة، أدركَ النَّبِيّ ﷺ وسمع منه (1).
It is narrated from Mus'ab bin Abdullah that al-Munkadir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) lived in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and heard hadiths from him (peace and blessings be upon him).
أخبرني أبو زكريا يحيى بن محمد العَنْبَري، حَدَّثَنَا الحَسن بن علي، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبير بن بكّار، قال: كان المُنكدر بن عبد الله جاء إلى عائشة أم المؤمنين ﵂، فشَكَا إليها الحاجةَ، فقالت: أولُ شيءٍ يأتيني أبعثُ به إليك، فجاءها عشرةُ آلاف درهمٍ، فبَعثَتْ بها إليه، فأخذَ منها جارِيةً، فوَلَدت له بَنِيهِ: محمدًا وأبا بكر وعمرَ، وذُكِروا كلُّهم بالصَّلاح، وحُمِل عنهم الحديثُ (2).
It is narrated from al-Zubayr bin Bakkar that al-Munkadir bin Abdullah came to the Mother of the Believers, Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), and complained to her of his need and poverty. She said: "The first thing (wealth) that comes to me, I will send to you." So when ten thousand dirhams came to her, she sent them to him. With those dirhams he bought a slave-girl, from whom his sons Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Umar were born. All of them became well known for their asceticism and piety, and hadiths were narrated from them.
