حدثني أبو بكر بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا إبراهيم بن إسحاق الحَرْبي، حدثنا مصعب بن عبد الله الزُّبيري، قال: ومن بني زُهير: صفوان بن مَخْرَمة بن نَوفَل، وبه يُكنى مَخرمةُ، وهو أخو المِسوَر بن مَخرَمة، وأمُّه عاتِكةُ بنت عَوف أختُ عبد الرحمن بن عَوف.
Mus'ab bin Abdullah al-Zubayri said: Among Banu Zuhayr is Safwan bin Makhramah bin Nawfal; it was after him that his father Makhramah was given his kunyah (Abu Safwan). He is the brother of al-Miswar bin Makhramah, and his mother was Atikah bint Awf, the sister of Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him).
حدثنا أبو عبد الله الصَّفّار، حدثنا أحمد بن عِصام، حدثنا أبو أحمد الزُّبيري، حدثنا بَشير أبو إسماعيل: سمعت القاسم بن صفوان الزُّهْرِي يَذكُر عن أبيه وكانت له صحبة: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال: "أَبرِدُوا بصلاةِ الظُّهر، فإنَّ شدَّةَ الحَرِّ من فَوْرِ جَهَنَّمَ" (2). أخبرنا الحاكم أبو عبد الله محمد بن عبد الله الحافظ قال: ذكرُ مناقب سَلَمة بن هشام بن المُغيرة بن عبد الله بن عُمَر بن مَخرُوم ﵁ - كان قديمَ الإسلام بمكة، وهاجَرَ إلى أرض الحَبَشة، ثم رجع إلى مكة، فحبسه أبو جهلٍ وضَرَبه وأجاعَه وعَطَّشَه، فكان رسولُ الله ﷺ يَدعُو له في الصلوات والقُنوت.
Al-Qasim bin Safwan al-Zuhri narrates from his father (a Companion of the Messenger) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Delay the Zuhr prayer until it is cooler, for the intensity of the heat is from the raging of Hell."
Imam al-Hakim Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Abdullah al-Hafiz said: This is the mention of the merits of Salamah bin Hisham bin al-Mughirah bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Makhzum (may Allah be pleased with him). He was among the early Muslims in Makkah. He emigrated to Abyssinia, then returned to Makkah, whereupon Abu Jahl imprisoned him, beat him, and kept him hungry and thirsty. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate for him in the prayers and in the qunut.
