حدثنا أبو إسحاق إبراهيم بن فراس الفقيه بمكة حَرَسَها الله، حدثنا بكر بن سهل الدِّمْياطي، حدثنا عبد الله بن يوسف، حدثنا سعيد بن عبد العزيز التَّنُوخي، عن زياد بن أبي سَوْدة قال: كان عبادةُ بن الصامت على سور بيتِ المَقدِس الشَّرقي يَبكي، فقال بعضهم: ما يبكيك يا أبا الوليد؟ فقال: من هاهنا أخبرنا رسولُ الله ﷺ أنه رأى جهنَّمَ (1).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Ziyad bin Abi Sawdah; he said: Sayyiduna Ubadah bin al-Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) was weeping on the eastern wall of Bayt al-Maqdis. One of them asked: O Abu al-Walid! What has made you weep? He said: "It was from this very spot that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that he had seen Hell."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs did not record it.

(1) رجاله ثقات غير بكر بن سهل الدمياطي فإنه ضعيف، إلَّا أنه لم ينفرد به، فقد روي هذا الخبر من غير وجه عن سعيد بن عبد العزيز عن زياد بن أبي سودة، وزياد هذا روايته عن عبادة مرسلة كما سلف بيانه وتخريجه عند الرواية المتقدمة برقم (3828).
Grading: (1) Its narrators are trustworthy except Bakr bin Sahl al-Dimyati, for he is weak; however, he is not alone in it, for this report has been narrated by more than one route from Sa'id bin 'Abd al-'Aziz, from Ziyad bin Abi Sawdah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): As for this Ziyad, his narration from 'Ubadah (bin al-Samit) is "mursal" (disconnected), as its explanation and takhrij passed under the narration at number (3828).
