Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 8918

(2) إسناده ضعيف لاضطرابه كما تقدَّم إسحاق بن إبراهيم: هو ابن عبّاد الدَّبَري.
Grading: Its chain is weak because it contains inconsistency (idtirab), as has passed.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ishaq bin Ibrahim is "Ibn 'Abbad al-Dabari".
والخبر في تفسير عبد الرزاق 2/ 358، ومن طريق عبد الرزاق أخرجه الطبري في "تفسيره" 10/ 187.
Reference / Source: This report is in "Tafsir 'Abd al-Razzaq" (2/ 358), and via 'Abd al-Razzaq it was recorded by al-Tabari in his "Tafsir" (10/ 187).
وتابع عبدَ الرزاق على إرساله محمد بن ثور الصنعاني عند الطبري 15/ 146 و 30/ 113 - 114، وأبو سفيان المَعمري عند ابن أبي الدنيا في "الأهوال" (150)، فروياه عن معمر مرسلًا. وسقط معمر من مطبوعة "الأهوال".
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: 'Abd al-Razzaq is corroborated in narrating it as "mursal" by Muhammad bin Thawr al-San'ani with al-Tabari (15/ 146 and 30/ 113-114), and by Abu Sufyan al-Ma'mari in Ibn Abi al-Dunya's "al-Ahwal" (150). Both of them narrated it from Ma'mar as "mursal".
Note / Clarification: The name of (the narrator) Ma'mar has dropped out of the printed edition of "al-Ahwal".
وخالفهم عبدُ الله ابن المبارك فرواه في "الزهد" برواية نعيم بن حماد (375) عن معمر، عن الزُّهْري، عن علي بن الحسين: أنَّ رجلًا من أهل العلم أخبره، أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ قال … فذكره.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): All of them were contradicted by 'Abdullah bin al-Mubarak, who gave it in "al-Zuhd", in the transmission of Nu'aym bin Hammad (375), thus: from Ma'mar, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ali bin al-Husayn, that "a man from among the people of knowledge informed him that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said" (and then he mentioned the hadith).
