مِنَ السُّنَّةِ إِذَا دَخَلْتَ الْمَسْجِدَ أَنْ تَبْدَأَ بِرِجْلِكَ الْيُمْنَى وَإِذَا خَرَجْتَ أَنْ تَبْدَأَ بِرِجْلِكَ الْيُسْرَى

حدثنا أبو بكر محمد بن أحمد بن بالَوَيهِ، حدثنا محمد بن أحمد بن النَّضْر الأزْدي، حدثنا معاوية بن عمرو، حدثنا زائدةُ، عن المختار بن فُلفُل، عن أنس: أنَّ النبي ﷺ حَضَّهم على الصلاة، ونَهَاهم أن يَنصرِفوا قبلَ انصرافِه من الصلاة (3).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط مسلم ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged the people to pray, and forbade them from leaving before he (peace and blessings be upon him) had finished the prayer.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of Imam Muslim, but they did not record it.

Grading: (3) Its chain is sahih.
Technical note: Za'idah is Ibn Qudamah.
وأخرجه أحمد 19/ (12276)، وأبو داود (624) من طريقين عن زائدة بن قدامة، بهذا الإسناد. وهو عند أحمد مطوَّل. ¤ ¤ وأخرج النهي عن الانصراف قبل انصرافه ضمن حديث أحمد (11997)، ومسلم (426)، والنسائي (1288) من طريقين عن المختار بن فلفل، به.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (19/12276) and Abu Dawud (624) narrated it through two routes from Za'idah bin Qudamah.
Important point: The prohibition of the follower leaving before the imam (leaves) is narrated in Ahmad (11997), Muslim (426) and al-Nasa'i (1288) with the chain of al-Mukhtar bin Fulful.
