أخبرني أحمد بن يعقوب الثَّقفي، حَدَّثَنَا يوسف بن يعقوب القاضي، حَدَّثَنَا أبو الرَّبيع الزَّهْرانيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حمّاد بن زيد، حَدَّثَنَا هشام بن حسَّان، عن أنس بن سيرين، عن أنس بن مالك: أنَّ النَّبِيّ ﷺ وَصَفَ لهم [في] عِرْق النَّسَا أن يأخذوا أَلْيةَ كَبْشٍ ليس بعظيمٍ ولا صَغيرٍ، فيُدَافُ ثم يُجزَّأُ على ثلاثة أجزاء، فيُشرَبُ (3) كلَّ يوم جزءٌ (4).
هذا حديث صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed for them this remedy for irq al-nasa (sciatica): that the fat of the tail of a ram that is neither very large nor very small be taken, then melted and divided into three portions, and one portion be drunk each day.
This hadith is sahih (authentic) on the condition of the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim), but they did not record it.

Note / Clarification: Manuscripts (Z), (K) and (B) have the word "فليشرب".
(4) إسناده صحيح. أبو الربيع: هو سليمان بن داود العَتَكي. وسلف برقم (3191).
Grading: Its chain is sahih. Abu al-Rabi' is Sulayman bin Dawud al-Ataki. It has already passed at number (3191).
قوله: "فيُداف" هو بمعنى: يذاب، كما جاء في غير هذا الموضع.
Note / Clarification: The word "فيداف" means: it is dissolved (melted), as it occurs in places other than this one.
