أخبرنا أبو عبد الله محمد بن يعقوب الشَّيباني، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن محمد ابن يحيى الذُّهْلي، حَدَّثَنَا مُسدَّد، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن سعيد، حَدَّثَنَا المُشمَعِلُ، حدثني عمرو بن سُليم (1) المُزَني، قال: سمعت رافعَ بن عَمرو المُزَني يقول: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ وأنا وَصِيفٌ يقول: "الشَّجرةُ العَجْوةُ (2) من الجنّة" (3).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد على شرط مسلم، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Amr al-Muzani (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when I was a young boy; he (peace and blessings be upon him) was saying: "The tree of the Ajwah date is from Paradise."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain of narration on the condition of Imam Muslim, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Grading: All its narrators (rijal) are thiqah and well known except Amr bin Sulaym; the discussion about Amr bin Sulaym has already passed at number (6633).
والوصيف: الغلام دون المراهق.
Note / Clarification: "al-Wasif": a boy who has not yet reached the age of adolescence (murahiq).
