Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7654

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty protects His believing servant from the world (and its pollutions), while He loves him, just as you protect your sick person from food and drink (so that it does not harm him), fearing for him."
The narrator narrated it from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), while in the hadith of Umarah bin Ghaziyyah it is narrated from Sayyiduna Qatadah bin al-Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him); and in my view both chains are sahih (authentic). And Allah knows best.

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: The word in the text has been established from manuscript (M), while manuscript (Z) has "al-bazl" and (S) has "al-harwal".

Grading: This hadith is sahih, and its narrators are, overall, thiqah (trustworthy).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Here too there is disagreement over the name of the Companion, as passed shortly before under narration (7652). Identification of the narrators: Ja'far bin Muhammad Ibn al-Turk refers to "Ja'far bin Muhammad bin al-Husayn bin Ubayd Allah", Yahya bin Yahya refers to "al-Naysaburi", Isma'il bin Ja'far refers to "Ibn Abi Kathir", and Amr bin Abi Amr refers to "the mawla of al-Muttalib".
Details of the narration: We have not found this narration by the route of Mahmud bin Labid from Abu Sa'id with anyone other than the author (al-Hakim).
