Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7568

أخبرنا أحمد بن كامل القاضي، حَدَّثَنَا عبد الله بن رَوْح المَدائني، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابة بن سَوَّار (1)، أخبرنا يونس بن أبي إسحاق، عن العَيْزار بن حُرَيث، عن أمِّ الحُصين الأحمَسِية، قالت: رأيتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وعليه بُرْدُه قد التَفَعَ به تحت إِبْطِه، كأني أنظرُ إلى عَضَلَة عَضُدِه تَرتجُّ، فسمعتُه يقول: "يا أيها الناسُ، اتَّقوا الله، وإن أُمَّرَ عليكم عبدٌ حَبَشِيٌّ فَاسْمَعُوا له وأَطِيعُوا ما أقامَ لكم كتابَ الله ﷿" (2).
هذا حديث صحيح الإسناد، ولم يُخرجاه.

It is narrated from Umm al-Husayn al-Ahmasiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her); she said: I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wearing a cloak which he (peace and blessings be upon him) had wrapped under his armpit; it is as if I can see the muscle of his upper arm quivering. Then I heard him (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "O people, fear Allah, and even if an Abyssinian slave is appointed as your leader, listen to him and obey him as long as he establishes the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, among you."
This hadith is sahih al-isnad (its chain is authentic), but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

Note / Clarification: (1) In the manuscripts this name is distorted into "Sayyar".

وأخرجه أحمد 45/ (27260) و (27266) و (27268)، والترمذي (1706) من طرق عن يونس بن أبي إسحاق، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الترمذي: حسن صحيح.
Reference / Source: It was recorded by Ahmad (45/ 27260, 27266, 27268) and al-Tirmidhi (1706) through various routes from Yunus bin Abi Ishaq, with this chain. Al-Tirmidhi said: This hadith is hasan sahih.
وأخرجه بنحوه أحمد 27/ (16646)، ومسلم (1298)، وابن ماجه (2861)، والنسائي (7767)، وابن حبان (4564) من طريق يحيى بن الحصين، عن جدته أم الحصين.
