Mustadrak al-Hakim 7563 — Description of the attributes of the Pond
فأخبرَناه الشيخ أبو بكر بن إسحاق، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتيبة، حَدَّثَنَا يحيى بن يحيى، أخبرنا سفيان بن عُيينة، عن أيوب، عن أبي قِلابة، عن سَمُرَةَ بن جُندُب: ذَكَرَ أنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قال: "عليكم بهذه البَيَاض، لِيَلبَسُها أحياؤُكم، وكَفِّنوا فيها مَوْتاكم" (3). وأما حديث إسماعيل ابن عُليَّة:
In the narration of Sufyan bin Uyaynah from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him), it is mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hold fast to these white garments. Let your living wear them, and shroud your dead in them."

(3) حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد رجاله ثقات لكن أبا قلابة لم يسمعه من سمرة، بينهما أبو المهلَّب الجرمي كما في الحديث السابق.
Grading: (3) This hadith is sahih, and the narrators of this chain are thiqah (trustworthy).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): However, Abu Qilabah did not hear it from Samurah; between the two of them is "Abu al-Muhallab al-Jarmi", as in the previous hadith.
وأخرجه أحمد 11/ (10118)، والنسائي (6511) من طريق حماد بن زيد، وأحمد (10116) من طريق وهيب بن خالد، والنسائي (9565) من طريق عبيد الله بن عمرو الرقي، ثلاثتهم عن أيوب السختياني، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad (11/ 10118) and al-Nasa'i (6511) recorded it via Hammad bin Zayd; Ahmad (10116) via Wuhayb bin Khalid; and al-Nasa'i (9565) via 'Ubayd Allah bin 'Amr al-Raqqi; all three of them narrate it from Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani, with this chain.
