أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله بن عَتَّاب، حدّثنا جعفر بن محمد بن شاكر، حدّثنا يحيى بن حمّاد، حدّثنا شُعبة، عن أبَان بن تَغلِب، عن الفُضيل بن عمرو الفُقَيمي، عن إبراهيم، عن علقمة بن قيس، عن عبد الله بن مسعود، عن النبيّ ﷺ قال: "إنَّ الله جَميلٌ يُحِبُّ الجَمَالَ" (2). كتب الحاكمُ بخطّه هاهنا: يُخرَّج بطوله. It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty is Jamil (Beautiful) and He loves beauty."
Imam al-Hakim wrote here in his own hand that it should be narrated in its full length.
(2) إسناده صحيح. إبراهيم: هو ابن يزيد بن قيس النخعي. Grading: (2) Its chain is sahih. Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibrahim is "Ibn Yazid bin Qays al-Nakha'i". وأخرجه مطولًا مسلم (91) (147)، والترمذيّ (1999)، وابن حبان (5466) من طرق عن يحيى بن حماد، بهذا الإسناد. وقال الترمذيّ: حسن صحيح غريب. Reference / Source: Imam Muslim (91) (147), al-Tirmidhi (1999) and Ibn Hibban (5466) narrated it at length via various routes from Yahya bin Hammad, with this chain. Imam al-Tirmidhi said: this hadith is hasan sahih gharib. وأخرجه أحمد 7/ (4310) من طريق حجاج بن محمد، ومسلم (91) (149) من طريق أبي داود الطيالسيّ، كلاهما عن شعبة به مختصرًا بقصة: لا يدخل الجنة المتكبر. Reference / Source: And Ahmad (7/ 4310) narrated it via Hajjaj bin Muhammad, and Muslim (91) (149) via Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, both of them from Shu'bah, with this chain, in abridged form with the passage: "The arrogant person will not enter Paradise." وانظر ما سلف برقم (69)، وما سيأتي برقم (7554).
