It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man and saw that his thigh was uncovered. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Cover your thigh, for a man's thigh is part of his awrah."

Hadith Takhrij «
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: (2) It is "hasan li-ghayrihi" (sound due to other reports), but this chain is layyin (soft, somewhat weak).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu Yahya (who is al-Qattat) has weakness. And Isra'il is "Ibn Yunus al-Sabi'i".
Reference / Source: Ahmad (4/ 2493) recorded it from Muhammad bin Sabiq, and al-Tirmidhi (2796) via Yahya bin Adam; both of them narrate it from Isra'il bin Yunus, with this chain.
