It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The testimony of a Bedouin against a town-dweller is not permissible (to accept)."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Important point: In the manuscripts the word "bin" had been wrongly inserted between al-Husayn and Ubaydullah.
Grading: The hadith is sahih, but this particular chain is da'if (weak). Technical note / Defect ('illah): We could not find a biography (tarjamah) of Abu al-Husayn Ubaydullah bin Muhammad al-Balkhi; however, he has been corroborated, and all the narrators above him are thiqah (trustworthy). Note / Clarification: Abu Isma'il is Muhammad bin Isma'il (Ibn Yusuf al-Sulami), Ibn al-Had is Yazid bin Abdullah bin al-Had, and Ata' is Ata' bin Yasar. Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud (3602) and Ibn Majah (2367) narrated it by way of Abdullah bin Wahb, from Nafi' bin Yazid, with this same chain. Note / Clarification: In Abu Dawud's narration, Ibn Wahb paired Yahya bin Ayyub with Nafi' bin Yazid. Grading: Imam al-Dhahabi said in the "Talkhis" that despite the apparent cleanness (reliability) of its chain, this hadith is "munkar". Technical note / Defect ('illah): We say: no other scholar has explicitly declared it munkar. Imam al-Bayhaqi said in "Ma'rifat al-Sunan wa al-Athar" (20241) that Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata' is alone in narrating it, whereas in fact he is thiqah (trustworthy) and one of the narrators of the two Shaykhs (al-Bukhari and Muslim). Note / Clarification: Ibn Raslan said, as mentioned in "Awn al-Ma'bud" (10/9): The scholars applied this hadith to those Bedouins (desert Arabs) whose probity ('adalah) is not known, and most often their probity is not known.
