Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 718

فأخبرَناه أبو بكر بن إسحاق الفقيه، أخبرنا علي بن عبد العزيز، حدّثنا أبو النُّعمان محمد بن الفضل، حدّثنا أبو عَوَانة، عن أبي بِشْر، عن بشر بن ثابت، عن حبيب بن سالم، عن النعمان بن بَشِير قال: إني لأعلمُ الناسِ بوقتِ هذه الصلاة؛ صلاةِ العشاء الآخِرة، كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلِّيها لسقوطِ القمرِ لثالثةٍ (3).
Sayyiduna al-Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray Isha when the moon set on the third night.

Technical note / Defect ('illah): "Abu Awanah" here refers to Waddah bin Abd Allah al-Yashkuri.
وأخرجه أحمد 30/ (18415)، وأبو داود (419)، والترمذيّ (165) و (166)، والنسائي (1523) من طرق عن أبي عوانة، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Ahmad 30/(18415), Abu Dawud (419), al-Tirmidhi (165, 166) and al-Nasa'i (1523) recorded it by various routes through Abu Awanah with this same chain.
وخالف أبو الوليد الطيالسي فرواه عن أبي عوانة عن إبراهيم بن محمد بن المنتشر - وهو ثقة - عن حبيب بن سالم عن النعمان بن بشير. أخرجه ابن حبان (1526).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi differed in this narration: he narrated it from Abu Awanah, from Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin al-Muntashir (who is thiqah), from Habib bin Salim, from al-Nu'man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him).
