Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 7084

It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Jamil (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said (to her son Muhammad bin Hatib): I brought you along, and when we were one or two nights' journey from Madinah, I cooked some food for you. The firewood ran out, so I went out to fetch firewood. You grabbed the cooking pot, and it tipped over onto your arm. When I reached Madinah, I brought you to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! This is Muhammad bin Hatib, and he is the first child to be named after you (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) passed his hand over your head and prayed for blessing for you, then put some of his saliva into your mouth, and began blowing over your hand while reciting: 'Adhhibil-ba's, Rabban-nas, ishfi antash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk, shifa'an la yughadiru saqama' (O Lord of mankind, remove the harm and grant healing; You are the Healer; there is no healing except Your healing; grant a healing that leaves behind no illness)
Mention of Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her), the freed slave-woman and nurse of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith in itself is "hasan", although this particular chain is weak.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Uthman bin Ibrahim was declared weak by Imam Abu Hatim al-Razi, while Ibn Hibban mentioned him in "al-Thiqat". About his father 'Uthman, Abu Hatim said: "His hadith is to be written, and he is a shaykh", and Ibn Hibban also included him in "al-Thiqat". Both of these narrators have been corroborated (mutaba').
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at 24/ (15453) and 45/ (27466), and Ibn Hibban at (2977), via various routes from 'Abd al-Rahman bin 'Uthman with this same chain, and at the end of these narrations these words are added: "She (Umm Salamah) said: I had not even risen with you from there before your hand was healed."
Reference / Source: A similar narration in brief was reported by Imam Ahmad (15452, 15454, 18276, 18277, 18281), al-Nasa'i (7496, 9944, 10796-10798) and Ibn Hibban (2976) via Simak bin Harb, from Muhammad bin Hatib.
Important point: As for the words of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) supplication, they are entirely "sahih". This supplication is established from the narration of 'A'ishah in al-Bukhari (5675) and Muslim (2191), and from the narration of Anas bin Malik in al-Bukhari (5742).
