أخبرنا أبو جعفر البغدادي، حَدَّثَنَا علي بن محمد بن عمرو بن تميم بن زيد بن هالة [بن أبي هالة، قال: حدثني أبي محمد، عن أبيه عمرو بن تَميم، عن أبيه تميم، عن أبيه زيد بن هالة] (1) عن أبيه هالة: أنه دخلَ على رسول الله ﷺ وهو راقدٌ، فاستيقظ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وضمَّ هالةَ إلى صدرِه، وقال: "هالةُ هالةُ هالةُ" كأنه ﷺ سُرَّ به لقرابته من خديجةَ ﵂ (2). ذكرُ عبد الله بن زَمْعة بن الأسود ﵁ -
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Halah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he (peace and blessings be upon him) was resting. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up, held Halah to his chest and said (affectionately): "Halah! Halah! Halah!" It was as though he (peace and blessings be upon him) was greatly pleased because of his kinship with Sayyidah Khadijah (may Allah be pleased with her).

(1) ما بين المعقوفين سقط من النسخ الخطية، وأثبتناه من "معجمي الطبراني".
Note / Clarification: (1) The text between the square brackets had dropped out of the handwritten manuscripts, and we have established it from al-Tabarani's two "Mu'jams".
(2) إسناده ضعيف مسلسل بالمجاهيل من علي بن محمد إلى زيد بن هالة. وقال الهيثمي في "مجمع الزوائد" 9/ 377: في إسناده جماعة لم أعرفهم.
Grading: (2) Its chain is da'if (weak) and consists of a continuous series of majhul (unknown) narrators from Ali bin Muhammad up to Zayd bin Halah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Haythami said in "Majma' al-Zawa'id" 9/ 377: In its chain there is a group of people whom I do not know.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "المعجم الأوسط" (3794)، و"الصغير" (537) - ومن طريقه ابن الأثير في "أسد الغابة" 1/ 379 - عن علي بن محمد بن عمرو بن تميم، بهذا الإسناد. لكن سقط من "الصغير": عن أبيه هالة. وقال: لم نكتب هذا الحديثَ إلَّا عن هذا الشيخ.
Reference / Source: It was narrated by al-Tabarani in "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (3794) and "al-Saghir" (537) - and through his route Ibn al-Athir in "Usd al-Ghabah" 1/ 379 - from Ali bin Muhammad bin Amr bin Tamim, with this same chain. However, the words "'an abihi Halah" have dropped out of "al-Saghir". And al-Tabarani said: We did not write this hadith down from anyone except this shaykh.
