Mustadrak al-Hakim — Hadith 6818

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Amr bin Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! I am an old, blind man, my house is far away, and I have no guide who suits me; between me and the mosque there are also trees and streams. Is there any concession for me to pray in my house? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you hear the call (adhan)?" I said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then come to it (the mosque)."
Imam al-Hakim says: To my knowledge, no one narrated this with the chain "from Asim, from Zirr (bin Hubaysh)" except Ibrahim bin Tahman, whereas Za'idah, Shayban al-Nahwi, Hammad bin Salamah, Abu Awanah and others narrated it from Asim, from Abu Razin, from Ibn Umm Maktum.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, and there is no harm in the narrators of this chain.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Ibrahim bin Tahman went against the other students of 'Asim (Ibn Bahdalah) by narrating it "from Zirr bin Hubaysh, from Ibn Umm Maktum", which is an error (wahm). The "mahfuz" (preserved) route is 'Asim, from Abu Razin, from Ibn Umm Maktum, as the author will cite these narrations after it. The narration of Abu Razin has also already passed with the author at number (822).
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tahawi narrated it in "Sharh Mushkil al-Athar" (5086), and Abu Nu'aym in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (5020), via Ya'qub bin Ishaq bin Abi 'Abbad, from Ibrahim bin Tahman, with this same chain.
