Abdullah bin Fadalah al-Laythi narrates from his father that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught me (matters of the religion), and among them was that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Guard the five prayers." I said: At these times I have many tasks, so tell me something comprehensive which, if I do it, will suffice for me. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Guard 'al-asrayn', the two Asrs." I asked: What are the two Asrs? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The prayer before sunrise (Fajr) and the prayer before sunset (Asr)."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Note / Clarification: The word "salah" has dropped out of manuscript (M), while the words "salah qabl" have dropped out of manuscript (S); we have entered it according to manuscript (B).
(51). Grading: Its chain is "hasan", and it has already been discussed under hadith number (51). Reference / Source: Imam Abu Dawud narrated it (428) from 'Amr bin 'Awn, with this same chain.
Verification of names: The manuscripts have "al-'Abdi", whereas the nisbah al-'Abdi refers to the tribe of 'Abd al-Qays of Rabi'ah bin Nizar (as in Ibn al-Athir's "al-Lubab" 2/ 314). We have entered the standard form "al-'Abdari" (the nisbah to the tribe of 'Abd al-Dar).
