أخبرنا موسى بن إسماعيل بن القاضي، حدثنا أبي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن حمزة الزُّبيري، حدثنا إسماعيل بن قيس، عن أبيه، عن خارجةَ بن زيد بن ثابت، عن أمِّ سعد بنت سعد بن الربيع: أنها دخلت على أبي بكر الصِّدِّيق، فألقى لها ثوبَه حتى جلست عليه، فدخلَ عليه عمرُ بن الخطاب فقال: يا خليفةَ رسولِ الله، مَن هذه؟ قال: هذه بنتُ مَن هو خيرٌ منِّي ومنك، قال: ومَن هو خيرٌ منِّي ومنك إِلَّا رسولَ الله ﷺ؟ قال أبو بكر: رجلٌ قُبِضَ على عهِد رسول الله ﷺ تبوَّأ مَقعدَه من الجنة، وبقيتُ أنا وأنت (1).

It is narrated from Umm Sa'd bint Sa'd bin al-Rabi' that she came to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him), and he spread out his cloak for her until she sat on it. Then Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to him and asked: O Khalifah of the Messenger! Who is this? He said: "This is the daughter of a man who was better than me and you." Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: "Apart from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who is it that is better than me and you?" Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "A man who died (as a martyr) in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and took up his place in Paradise, while you and I remained behind (to be tested)."
This hadith has a sahih (authentic) chain, but the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) did not record it.

(1) إسناده واهٍ، إسماعيل بن قيس -وهو ابن سعد بن زيد بن ثابت الأنصاري- ضعيف منكر الحديث، وبه ضعفه الذهبي في "التلخيص". وأبوه قيس لم نقف له على ترجمة، فهو مجهول.
Grading: Its chain is extremely weak (wahin).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Isma'il bin Qays (who is Isma'il bin Qays bin Sa'd bin Zayd bin Thabit al-Ansari) is a weak and "munkar al-hadith" narrator, and Imam al-Dhahabi declared it weak in "al-Talkhis" on this basis. Moreover, no biography (tarjamah) of his father Qays bin Sa'd could be found, so he is an "unknown" (majhul) narrator.
وأخرجه الطبراني في "الكبير" (5401) -وعنه أبو نعيم في "معرفة الصحابة" (3134) - عن مصعب بن إبراهيم بن حمزة، عن أبيه، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in "al-Mu'jam al-Kabir" (5401) - and from him Abu Nu'aym transmitted it in "Ma'rifat al-Sahabah" (3134) - through the route of Mus'ab bin Ibrahim bin Hamzah, from his father, with this same chain.
