حدثنا أبو العبّاس محمد بن يعقوب، حدثنا الرَّبيع بن سليمان، حدثنا أَسَد بن موسى، حدثنا ابن لَهِيعة، حدثنا بَكْر بن سَوَادة، عن زياد بن نُعَيم الحَضرَمي، عن عُمارة بن حَزْم قال: رآني رسول الله ﷺ جالسًا على قبرٍ، قال: "انزِلْ من القبرِ، لا تُؤذي صاحب القبر ولا يُؤذِيكَ" (1). ذكرُ يَزيد بن ثابت أخي زَيْد بن ثابت ﵄

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umarah bin Hazm (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me sitting on a grave and said: "Get down from the grave; do not harm the occupant of the grave, and let him not harm you."

(1) حديث صحيح دون قوله: "ولا يؤذيك" فقد تفرَّد به عبد الله بن لَهِيعة، وهو سيئ الحفظ، ثم هو قد أخطأ في اسم صحابي الحديث، فالصحيح أنه من حديث عمرو بن حزم أخي عمارة، وزياد ابن نعيم أدرك عمرًا ولم يدرك عمارة.
Grading: This hadith is sahih except for the words "wa la yu'dhika" (and it does not harm you).
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Abd Allah bin Lahi'ah is alone in reporting these words, and he has a weak memory. Moreover, he also made a mistake in the name of the Companion; the correct view is that this is the hadith of "'Amr bin Hazm" (the brother of 'Umarah), because Ziyad bin Nu'aym met 'Amr but not 'Umarah.
وأخرجه أحمد 39 / (24009/ 38) عن حسن بن موسى الأشيب، و (24009/ 40) عن يحيى ابن إسحاق السيلحيني، كلاهما عن عبد الله بن لَهِيعة بهذا الإسناد. وفيه في الروايتين الشك باسم صحابيه، هل هو عمرو أم عمارة؟
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at 39 / (24009/ 38) from Hasan bin Musa al-Ashyab and at (24009/ 40) from Yahya bin Ishaq al-Saylahini; both related it from Ibn Lahi'ah.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): In both these narrations doubt is expressed about the name of the Companion, whether he is 'Amr or 'Umarah.
وأخرجه أحمد أيضًا (24009/ 39) عن علي بن عبد الله المديني، عن عبد الله بن وهب، عن عمرو بن الحارث، عن بكر بن سوادة، عن زياد بن نعيم، عن عمرو بن حزم. ولم يقل فيه: "ولا يؤذيك". وهذا إسناد صحيح.
Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad narrated it at (24009/ 39) with the chain of 'Ali bin 'Abd Allah al-Madini through 'Abd Allah bin Wahb.
Grading: This chain is "sahih", and the words "wa la yu'dhika" are not in it.
وفي باب النهي عن الجلوس على القبر غيرُ ما حديثٍ، انظر "مسند أحمد" 13/ (8108).
Corroborating chains and supporting reports: On the subject of the prohibition of sitting on graves there are several other hadiths; for details see "Musnad Ahmad" 13/ (8108).
