أخبرنا أبو بكر محمد بن عبد الله الشافعي، حدثنا محمد بن مَسلَمة، بن حدثنا يزيد بن هارون، أخبرنا الجُرَيري، عن أبي نَضْرة، عن أبي سعيد: أنه كان يقول: تَحدَّثوا، فإنَّ الحديثَ يذكِّر الحديثَ (1).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to say: "Hold discussions of knowledge among yourselves (mentioning the hadith), for one hadith becomes a means of reminding of another hadith."

(1) خبر صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لضعف محمد بن مَسلَمة الواسطي. الجريري: هو سعيد ابن إياس، وأبو نضرة: هو المنذر بن مالك بن قطعة.
Grading: (1) This report is sahih, while this chain is weak due to the weakness of Muhammad bin Maslamah al-Wasiti.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): Al-Jurayri is Sa'id bin Iyas, and Abu Nadrah is al-Mundhir bin Malik bin Qit'ah.
وأخرجه الدارمي (595) و (598)، والخطيب في "الجامع لأخلاق الراوي والسامع" (1820) من طريقين عن الجريري، به.
Reference / Source: It was also narrated by al-Darimi (595 and 598) and by al-Khatib in "al-Jami' li-Akhlaq al-Rawi wa al-Sami'" (1820) via two routes from al-Jurayri, likewise.
وسلف برقم (327) من طريق جعفر بن أبي وحشية عن أبي نضرة.
Reference / Source: And it has already passed under number (327) via Ja'far bin Abi Wahshiyyah, from Abu Nadrah.
