(2) قوله: "وكان قتادة بن النُّعمان أخوه لأمه" كذا وقع في نسخنا هنا في ترجمة مالك والد أبي سعيد، وهو إقحام يُلبِس على القارئ أنه أراد أنَّ قتادة أخو مالك، والصواب أنه أخو أبي سعيد الخدري لأمه كما سيأتي في ترجمته لاحقًا.
Technical note / Defect ('illah): (2) The statement: "And Qatadah bin al-Nu'man was his maternal half-brother" — in our manuscripts these words occur like this here, in the biography of "Malik", the father of Abu Sa'id; this is an insertion that misleads the reader into thinking that Qatadah was perhaps Malik's brother, whereas the correct position is that he was the maternal half-brother of "Abu Sa'id al-Khudri", as will come later in his biography.
