Concerning Salamah bin al-Akwa' (al-Akwa's name was Sinan bin Abdullah), Muhammad bin Umar says that he took part in seven military expeditions with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and fought nine campaigns under the command of Sayyiduna Zayd bin Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him), whom the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed as our commander. It is also narrated from Muhammad bin Umar (al-Waqidi) that his kunyah was Abu Iyas, and according to his son Iyas bin Salamah, his father passed away in Madinah in 74 AH, when he was eighty years old.
