(1). It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he left us in such a state that every one of us changed (due to circumstances), except Sayyiduna Umar and his son Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) (who remained firm on their abstinence and piety).

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: Its chain is weak. Technical note / Defect ('illah): The reason for its weakness is the weakness of Abu Sa'd al-Baqqal (whose real name is Sa'id bin al-Marzuban). "Abu Hasin" in the chain is 'Uthman bin 'Asim, and "Abu Wa'il" is Shaqiq bin Salamah. Reference / Source: 'Abd Allah bin Ahmad narrated something similar in "Fada'il al-Sahabah" (48), and from him Imam al-Tabarani in "al-Mu'jam al-Awsat" (4339), from Hudbah bin 'Abd al-Wahhab alone, with this same chain. Technical note / Defect ('illah): In the printed edition of al-Tabarani the name is corrupted (misprinted): "'Umar bin 'Ubayd" has been printed in place of "Muhammad bin 'Ubayd".
