إِنَّ الزُّبَيْرَ كَانَ عَفِيفًا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، قَانِتًا لِلَّهِ

أخبرنا الشيخ أبو بكر، أخبرنا إسماعيل بن قُتَيبة، حدثنا محمد بن عبد الله بن نُمَير، حدثني أبي، عن هشام بن عُرْوة، عن أبيه قال: مَحا ابنُ الزُّبير نفسَه من الِّديوان حين قُتِلَ عثمانُ (1).
Hisham bin Urwah narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with them both) removed his name from the official register (diwan) at the time of the martyrdom of Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him).
