(1). Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik al-Ashja'i (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during the Battle of Tabuk. It was the last part of the pre-dawn time, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was in his tent. I greeted him with salam and asked: "O Messenger of Allah, may I come in?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come in." I asked: "Shall I come in completely?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes, come in completely." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Six signs will appear before the Hour: the first is the death of your Prophet - say: one." I said: One. "The second is the conquest of Bayt al-Maqdis - say: two." I said: Two. "The third is a plague that will destroy you suddenly, just as the throat disease (qu'as) destroys sheep - say: three." I said: Three. "The fourth is that wealth will become so abundant among you that a man will be given a hundred dinars and will still remain displeased with it (that is, he will consider it little) - say: four." I said: Four. "The fifth is a tribulation that will arise among you, and hardly any tent or house of clay will remain which it does not enter - say: five." I said: Five. "And the sixth is a truce that will be between you and Banu al-Asfar (the Romans). They will gather an army against you for nine months (the length of a woman's pregnancy); then they will betray you and advance upon you under eighty banners, and under every banner there will be twelve thousand soldiers."

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Adil Murshid et al.
Grading: This hadith is sahih, although there is some weakness (lin) in this chain because of al-'Ala' bin Hilal (the father of Hilal), but there is corroboration (mutaba'ah) for him. Reference / Source: Imam Ahmad (39/ 23979) narrated its opening part through Zakariyya bin 'Adi, from 'Ubayd Allah bin 'Amr al-Raqqi, with this same chain, except that he did not mention "al-Zuhri" in it. For the full takhrij, see that place. Corroborating chains and supporting reports: Imam Ahmad narrated it in full at (23971) through Hisham bin Yusuf, at (23985) through Jubayr bin Nufayr and at (23996) through Muhammad bin Abi Muhammad; all three of them transmit it from 'Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him). Important point: This narration will come later with the author (al-Hakim) at number (8500) through Abu Idris al-Khawlani and at number (8508) through al-Sha'bi. Also, at number (8868) it is narrated in another wording through Ishaq bin 'Abd Allah.
